Cloud release notes July 2020

Added security for Azure Active Directory users

Users specified under specific roles (created by an Azure Active Directory admin) now have the ability to connect to the Azure SQL warehouse database using their Azure AD account.

Note

This is only available if you are using Azure Active Directory for Authentication and using an Azure SQL server database for your warehouse and the Azure SQL server is in the same directory as your Azure Active Directory.

  1. Configure the model server to connect to your Azure SQL server instance.

  2. Enable features.

  3. Create a role with access to a single table only.

  4. Add your Azure Active Directory user to that role (make you aren't included in any other roles).

  5. Publish model/role changes.

Performance enhancements

The July 2020 release also contains performance enhancements and bug fixes to make Data Hub better for you.
