Add a Model Server
Note
The instillation (On-premise) or set-up (Data Hub Cloud) would have created a Model Server for you and you should not need to create any more. However, in some scenarios such as the use of a sand-box environment, you may require another Model Server to be added.
Create a model server using the model wizard
Click New Resource > Model.
Select your data source and click OK.
On the Create Model tab, use the Model Server drop-down list to select the Create new model sever option.
Specify the Model Server settings.
Close the Model Server tab and click Save on the pop-up,
Select the new model server from the Model Server drop-down list.
Complete the data model creation process using the wizard.
Create a standalone model server
Click New Resource > More > Model Server.
Specify the Model Server settings.
Click Save.
Once saved, the Model Server can be used with a new or existing data model.
Create a Tableau-enabled model server
Important
For the Tableau connection to function, the Tableau instance (Tableau server or Tableau Online) requires access to the Warehouse server associated with this model server.
Click New Resource > More > Model Server.
Specify the Model Server settings.
Click Save.
Create a warehouse-only model server
Click New Resource > More > Model Server.
Specify the Model Server settings.
Click Save.
View and edit a model server
Once a Model Server has been created, it can be accessed and edited at any time. Typically, these model servers are stored in your personal directory and can be accessed using the Resource Explorer.
Open an existing Model Server.
Edit any necessary information such as changed passwords, server details etc.
Click Save.
