Zap AI credits
Zap AI usage is measured in credits. Your organization gets weekly credits with its Data Hub license, and administrators can buy additional credits on the Billing page.
Zap AI usage is free during the initial release period.
- Only administrators can open the AI usage and Billing pages and buy credits.
- Zap AI is not available on-premises.
How Zap AI credits are used
Zap AI requests use credits. Longer conversations use more, because Zap AI reads the whole conversation with each request, and so do requests that need Zap AI to inspect several reports or models.
To make your credits go further, click New chat when you change topic, and tell Zap AI which report or model you mean.
Weekly credits are used first, then additional credits.
Weekly credits
Your Data Hub license includes a number of weekly credits, shared by everyone in your organization. Each week, your weekly credits are reset to your license's full amount, less any credits owing. Unused weekly credits expire at the end of the weekly period.
Additional credits
Administrators can purchase additional credits. Additional credits don't expire, and they cannot be transferred or exchanged for money.
Weekly budgets
Administrators can set weekly budgets on the AI usage page to control how quickly your organization uses its credits:
- Organization weekly budget - The most credits your whole organization can use each week.
- User weekly budget - The most credits each user can use each week.
When a budget is used up, Zap AI can still answer questions about using Data Hub, but can't work with your data until the next weekly reset. Budgets limit usage, but don't add or remove credits.
Running out of AI credits
When your organization's AI credits run out, Zap AI can still answer questions about using Data Hub, but it can't work with your data, and users will see an Out of credits message. Requests made while Zap AI is limited don't use credits.
Zap AI stays limited until your credits are back above zero. An administrator can purchase additional credits, or you can wait for more weekly credits.
Negative credit balance
Zap AI requests are allowed to finish rather than stop immediately, even if that leaves your organization with a negative balance. The next credits your organization receives will pay this back automatically, and there is a hard limit on this, so your next weekly reset will always be able to cover any negative balance.
View your Zap AI credit balance
To see your organization's Zap AI credit balance in Data Hub, click Settings > AI usage. The AI usage page shows your Weekly credits remaining, Additional credits remaining, and when your weekly credits next reset.
To buy credits, or to see purchases and invoices, click Purchase credits on the AI usage page to open the Billing page.
