Data Hub now supports customizable partition sizes for data loading, a new "Last child" aggregation type for closing exchange rates, and several accounting functions for balance sheet, trial balance, and currency translation.

Modeling enhancements

Customizable partition sizes

We've added a new feature that allows the size of partitions to be more finely controlled when loading source data with Partitioning. The new Partition size field specifies how many time periods each partition covers.

New partition size

Existing partition configurations will be automatically upgraded to a partition size of 1. For faster processing, we recommend that model designers use fewer, larger partitions when the data source is known to be stable.

Last child aggregation type

Added a new measure aggregation type, Last child, for supporting closing exchange rates.

Analytics enhancements

New accounting functions

Several new accounting functions have been added to support common financial calculations:

  • Balance sheet opening/closing - Calculates the Balance Sheet opening or closing balances for the selected time member.
  • Balance sheet opening/closing (consolidated) - Calculates the consolidated Balance Sheet opening or closing balances for the selected time member.
  • Trial balance opening/closing - Calculates the Trial Balance opening or closing balances for the selected time member.
  • Translate to reporting currency - Translates a functional amount to the reporting currency at the closing exchange rate for the specified time period.
